Counseling
Students will achieve success in academic knowledge, skills, and behavior through participation in the Pinckneyville Middle School student-oriented, comprehensive counseling program. Students will have equitable access to appropriate resources and support for success in their academic, social-emotional development, and career exploration, in accordance to the standards and competencies measured by the national, state, and the Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Office Counseling College and Career Services.

Ms. Johnson was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Kennesaw State University. She went on to complete her Master of Education in School Counseling at Georgia State University, where she also pursued additional clinical coursework to enhance her training and work toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Ms. Johnson is passionate about supporting students’ emotional well-being, promoting academic success, and helping young people build confidence and resilience. She believes in the importance of advocacy, equity, and creating a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
She is thrilled to serve as the 6th grade school counselor and looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to help students grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. Her goal is to be a consistent support as students begin their middle school journey and discover who they are becoming.

Ms. Adams was born and raised in Miami, FL. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminology from Kennesaw State University. She went on to complete her Master in Science in School Counseling as well as Clinical Mental Health from Mercer University! Ms. Adams enjoys traveling, reading and creating lasting memories with family and friends. She brings a strong commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional well-being. Ms. Adams is dedicated to collaborating with teachers, parents, and community resources to ensure that students feel valued, heard, and appreciated.

Ms. Kim Gray

Ms. Gray is an Atlanta native. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media Arts and a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University, followed by an Education Specialist degree in School Counseling from Jacksonville State University. This school year marks her first at Pinckneyville Middle School. Ms. Gray has 30 years in education, previously serving as a middle school counselor in Cobb County Schools and as an elementary school counselor in DeKalb County Schools. Middle school is an important of self-discovery, and Ms. Gray looks forward to working with students during this transition. Her goal is to prepare students to be productive citizens by supporting their academic, social/emotional, and career development. She is the proud mother of two adult sons. Outside of school, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons. Ms. Gray is excited to join the Pinckneyville community and looks forward to a fantastic year!
